For as long as I can remember I’ve been interested in the details of things. What’s worse is that I’ve never been satisfied by having or doing the same thing as others. I’m probably also a bit of a perfectionist.
As a result, I continually challenge myself for a deeper understanding of things, and am often driven by an admittedly odd internal desire to apply learning.
I suppose all of this is why I eventually ended up obtaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and manage the development of new products in my day job.
On a personal level, when I’m not spending time with my family, I enjoy working on our house, woodworking, yard work, fishing, computer programming (recently Python), single board computers (namely – Raspberry Pi), computer aided design/drafting, electronics, old scooters (Vespa), and mostly recently – working on and learning to use a CNC milling machine that was brand spanking new in the 1980’s.
I’m sure all of this means I’m nerdy, but I’m totally cool with it, right down to my thick black framed glasses.
